On Saturday, June 5, I took an important step in my relationship with Jesus Christ. I was baptized. This was an important decision to make and, let me tell you, it was long in comming. I spent many a time in prayer and reflection on why I should be baptized. The decsion came when I decided that I needed to make more of a public profession of my faith to the community of believers that I belong to. Baptism to me signifies Christs death and resurection. It represents what Christ did for us on the cross. We leave our dead body behind in the water and emerge clensed. In my case the event took place out at Lake Padden up here in Bellingham. It was qute a cold day and let me tell you the water was cold also. Brrr.. :) Well here are some pics of that fun filled day with excitment and baptisms and hotdogs.
This is me actually getting
baptized in the cold cold water, by Charles and Jen.
This is a pic right after
I got out of the water and when I was taking communion and being really
cold.
This is a pic of crazy
Steve. He was my towel bearer at this event which meant he got to hand
me my towel when I got out of the water. Makes sense right?
This is a pic of me and
my friend Angela. She was conspiring against me and snuck up the night
before to come and watch me get wet hehe Needless to say I was quite surprised
when she showed up.
